We all love going on a night out with our friends from time to time. This includes going to a nice pub/bar and going clubbing. Personally, I prefer pubs because of their chilled vibe, as the atmosphere tends to be more relaxed than in a nightclub. However, we all have a few drinks – drink responsibly please – when we go out no matter the place we end up choosing. That’s fine as long as you don’t cross any limit, although sometimes you regret it the morning after. We’ve all been hungover and we all know how bad you can feel when you wake up. Yes, I am talking from experience. For this reason, I thought I could share some tips on how to survive the morning after.
Get ready for it
You should start working on the morning after even before you actually go out. What I personally do is hydrating my body as much as possible. Drink a lot of water during the day and get your skin ready as well. You should also have a nice dinner. Otherwise, you’ll absorb alcohol too quickly, and trust me, you don’t want that. I have been told that greasy food can actually help you with this, as it makes it harder for you to absorb alcohol. I can’t tell you if it works, but in any case, make sure you don’t leave your house with an empty stomach. I guess that won’t be a problem though. Who does not enjoy a nice meal?
Hydration is key. This is something I will never stop saying. It is very important that you keep drinking water during and after your night out. Dehydration is what will make you feel hungover, so you need to refill your body with lots of water. Moreover, it will make you wee more, which means you’ll get rid of all those toxins you’ve put inside your body faster. Another good option could be having an isotonic drink because it contains more minerals. Never ever start drinking again, otherwise, you are going to regret it even more.
Sleep a lot and have a shower
The lack of sleep is definitely not the main problem, but it definitely does not help. You should spend the morning after sleeping as much as possible. However, if you can’t, you should try to take a nap in the afternoon at least. Once you have had enough, go straight to the shower. You’ll feel much better and you’ll get rid of all the dirt your body has after a night out. I don’t know why but I always smell awful when I come back and it’s not because of how sweaty I am. Some people would rather have a shower before going to bed. That’s up to you, as long as you change your bedsheets anyway.
Look after your skin
It is important to take care of your skin as well. Again, hydration is key, so finding a nice moisturiser is essential. After dancing all night, you probably need some energy. The best way of doing this is by eating. Some people love having a greasy and unhealthy breakfast, but I think that is a bit risky. I don’t want to end up throwing up, thank you. My personal recommendation is getting a light breakfast that can give you the energy you need anyway. I love the idea of having some avocado and salmon on toast for breakfast/brunch. You could even make a smoothie, which will also keep you hydrated and refreshed.
