What I Expect from 2018

new year resolutions 2018

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2017 hasn’t been the best year ever, although I can’t say it has been the worst either. I’ve had difficult times but I have also managed to achieve so many goals I had. For example, I’ve got a proper job now, I’ve travelled to quite a few places and I’ve also met some amazing people throughout the year. It has definitely been a year of change. My life is very different from what it used to be 365 days ago. However, there’s still a lot to change and I feel like I have the opportunity to do so now. For this reason, I want to write down what I want to achieve this year and what I expect from 2018.

Find myself

I always thought I wanted to study English and become an English teacher. However, now that I study English at uni and teach at a language school, I am not that sure this is the life I want. I still love it, but I can’t see myself doing what I do for the rest of my life. This is why I’ve felt completely lost recently. I need to find myself again and discover what I want to do in the future. I am very positive about 2018 though, as I am determined to find new motivations. What I want is to learn new things and try new activities. In fact, I have been trying new stuff recently and I have a clearer view of what I want now.

Meet new people

Meeting new people has always been difficult for me because I am quite shy. I am much more confident now though, mainly because I am happier with myself. Thanks to this and to my blog, I have been able to meet lots of new people this year. However, I want to meet even more in 2018 because I have enjoyed it so much. I also think it is a great way to get inspired and discover new things. Moreover, I would also love to get more followers on Instagram. No, I am not only interested in reaching a certain number, which could be cool of course. What I want is to be able to share what I love with more and more people. I am very happy with my followers because there are quite a few ones that I already consider my friends.

Visit new places

In 2017 I have travelled to several places such as the UK, Austria and Slovakia, but that’s not enough for me. I want to visit more places. Again, it is all about getting inspired and discovering new cultures. Travelling is something that can change your mind completely about a certain aspect of your life. For this reason, I would love to visit some countries with an extremely different culture. I feel like I need it. I don’t know if I will be able to cross this off my list, but at least I am going to try. It is sometimes difficult to be able to travel a lot, although I’ve been very lucky in the last few years to be honest. By the way, if you have any recommendation about where I should go, let me know.

Be healthier

I think I have improved a little bit in this compared to last year. I eat better now and I drink a lot of water as well (I used to struggle with it, as some of you may know). However, I am very bad at being active. I still need to do more exercise and improve my fitness. To be honest, I have been thinking about this a lot recently and I feel like it is the right time to change my lifestyle. I know it is going to be hard but I also know I can do it if I put some effort into it. In fact, I have already done it in the past, although I always end up giving up. But that is not going to happen in 2018, is it?

What I Expect from 2018

Can you really expect anything from a year? I don’t know, but I want 2018 to be surprising. I could be considered a control-freak, as I am always planning what to do next. However, I am now open to the unexpected. I need something else to happen. Something I do not know yet. Something that I will never forget. A surprise. However, I know such rewards do not simply happen and that I need to work hard in every aspect of my life to get them, but I am ready. I want to make the most of this year. And I really hope I can get a sort of unknown reward in order to motivate me even more.

Lastly, I would like to say thank you to every single one of you. Your support has been incredible this year. I know everybody says that, but you can’t even imagine how much you mean to me. The fact that you love what I do is unbelievable. Not only that, though, you have cheered me up so many times on Twitter, especially these last few months when I have felt very stressed and just not very well. Honestly, THANK YOU. I hope we can continue with this together in 2018. Oh, and don’t forget to share with me your goals for 2018!
