I have always been very interested in fashion as you probably have already noticed. One of my dreams is to go to London, Paris, Milan or New York for fashion week because my favourite brands showcase their collections there. However, I am also very interested in what new designers are doing because sometimes it can be very refreshing. For this reason and because it is held where I live, I wanted to go to 080 Barcelona Fashion. Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to get any accreditations, and I could only go two days.
Despite all of this, I managed to get an invitation for Daniel Rosa’s show with which you could also see Krizia Robustella’s show. I was really excited about that because it was going to be my first time at a fashion show. I was a bit nervous and I didn’t know what to do when I got there, but I ended up enjoying the whole experience eventually. The shows were held at Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau, which is such an amazing location.
Daniel Rosa’s collection called Raíces (Roots) was inspired by the rural areas, but incorporating urban elements. The main colours he used were blue (in different shades), white and a floral pattern. To make the clothes, he basically used very technical materials, including a lot of cotton. One of the things that I liked the most about it is the contrast between the different kind of fabric. I personally think it added a really nice touch to each item. Even though most of the clothes were not pieces that I would wear, I would actually buy one in particular, which is the jacket with the floral pattern that you can see in the photos.

Krizia Robustella’s collection was absolutely incredible too and also very different to what we all expected. She normally creates crazy streetwear and sportswear pieces, however, this time she made a twist to the traditional and more formal clothing items such as blazers, polo shirts and suits. We could already expect this thanks to the name of the collection, which is Classy Jungle Brothers. It was not classy at all, though.
Everything was very colourful and it reminded me of the lovely African culture because of the illustrations on the clothes. I absolutely loved the concept behind each item and how well designed everything was, especially because she was a bit out of her comfort zone. She definitely did a great job in giving her own touch to classy clothing. One of my favourite things about it all was the kind of fabrics she used and the silhouettes.

I can’t wait for next season to be honest. I really hope I can get an accreditation or at least go to more shows. I would also love to be invited to some shows in other fashion weeks because I think that it is a great way to experience fashion and be creative with it, as well as learning a lot about everything. Let me know what you think of the looks in the comments. I only showed you what they did for menswear, but you can check out the whole show on 080 Barcelona Fashion’s website (here).
