HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I am very excited for this new year to be honest, as I don’t think 2016 has been a good year in general. Of course there have been so many good moments that I will never forget, some of them thanks to this blog. However, the world has been a bit crazy this year, and there are lots of things that we must change to improve our lives. I want to do so many exciting things in 2017, and I have already planned some of them. I need a bit of a change, some fresh air, and I am sure that this new year will bring me that.
I have already set some goals for 2017. Some of them are personal and some others are blog-related, but I feel like sometimes it is important to focus on the little things first and then try to achieve the big goals. For this reason, I thought it would be interesting to share with you some small goals, which will follow up last year’s resolutions. Even though I’ve done quite a few improvements, I still haven’t completed all my goals from last year. I’m learning German, I have my driving license, I am not as shy as I used to be, and I have met so many people, mainly thanks to blogging. These are basically the ones that I have managed to achieve, and I feel very proud of it, but there are some that I must work hard on.
Drink more water
I have actually improved this so much since last year and I can even feel it on my skin. However, I am quite inconsistent on it, as there are some days in which I struggle with it. For example, it is much easier for me to drink between two and three litres of water in summer, but now that the weather is much colder I don’t feel like it. I try to drink more tea instead, which is also quite good, but I can’t drink tea all day long. Also, I need to start using the app I told you about last year (here), which is very useful but I kind of forgot about it.
I have tried lots of new kinds of food during 2016 and I have actually changed what I normally eat a little bit. Despite that, I am not as healthy as I would like to be. I need to eat more healthy food, but I want to change it gradually so that I can then stick to the new diet. I would also like to do more sport, which is very important. I have been very lazy this year to be honest. It has been difficult because I don’t have much free time, but I need to make an effort and work out more. I really enjoy running, so I don’t even know why I haven’t done it for a long time.
Explore new places
In 2016 I have been to Zürich in the summer (here) and to Dublin a few weeks ago (here). I feel like I am quite lucky for being able to travel to these places, as I know some people can’t. However, I want to travel a lot more. For me, travelling is very important as it is one of the things that make me happy, and I also learn a lot from every place I visit. I have already booked my flights to London in July, as I’m going to Adele’s concert there. I may not stay in London, but in Brighton, as I have never been there. It will be a two-week stay, so I need to plan some cool things to do. I would also like to go somewhere else this year such as Croatia, Austria or any other country around Europe. Of course, if I could, I would definitely go to the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia or New Zealand, which would be a dream. As you can see, there are so many places that I want to visit and I hope I can actually go to some of them soon.
Improve my Instagram account
I am quite happy with my Instagram feed actually. However, I feel like there are always so many aspects to improve. I want it to be as close to perfection as I can because I really enjoy the process so much. If you want to check out my account you can do it here. I’ll try to start applying some changes very soon, although I don’t think I’ll change the theme, as I really like the colours. Maybe I will make it a bit darker, but I am not sure. Let’s see if I can improve it with those changes, you can follow me here. I also want to improve my content on this blog, and even upload more frequently, but I don’t want to do it until I know I can upload more without losing quality. I need to be happy with what I post here.
Start a YouTube channel
This is probably one of those resolutions that I am not going to stick to. I would love to upload some videos to my channel, but I don’t think it will be possible. I know it is a bit of an excuse, but I don’t have enough time. I even struggle with being consistent on my blog and Instagram account. However, I will try my best to do it, especially during the summer, which is the only time of the year in which I don’t have much to do.
Spend more time doing nothing
A few days ago, I watched one of PointlessBlog’s vlogs in which he said that we all should spend time on our own doing nothing. This really inspired me because we tend to associate the idea of doing nothing to reading, watching TV or something else of this kind. What he really meant was that we need time to just go to the beach, have a little walk, sit on a bench and just relax. I feel like if we all did this, we would be so much happier than we are. For this reason, I am going to try to just spend time with myself, thinking about what I like, what I want to be, and just exploring my inner self. Sound very poetic, but it’s true, I need it.
As I said, I can’t wait for the new year because I am so excited for it. I really hope I can do everything I want, even though I’ll have to work hard to get it. What do you think about my goals?
