Ginger Lemonade

Ginger Lemonade

September has arrived but it is still quite hot here in Barcelona. I have always loved lemonade, but I haven’t had any in a while. For this reason, I thought making some would be perfect to keep me hydrated. However, I didn’t want it to have a lot of sugar, so I decided to make it with honey and ginger, which is my favourite lemonade flavour.

Ingredients

  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • Ice and water

Let’s go!

The first thing you need to do is peeling your ginger. Then you will need to slice it thinly. Mix it together with your honey and boiling water. Stir until the honey is dissolved and then let it set for 15 minutes.

Fill your pitcher with some ice and then strain the ginger mixture into it. After that you will only need to add in the lemon juice and some water. You should add more or less water depending on how strong you want your lemonade to be – I personally like it quite sour. If you want, you can add a lemon slice when you serve it as I did.

I hope you liked this recipe. It is such an easy one, but the result is delicious. You should definitely try to make it at home, especially for a party or a picnic. Also, I am now trying to find some autumnal recipes, so if you know any that you would like me to make, let me know in the comments.
